As owner of Sandor Welsh Photography, Sandor works with clients to capture the moments of the day, according to the couples’ unique desires and love for one another. He will offer suggestions and recommendations, but is careful not to impose his tastes—his focus is on the vision of the couple he is working with. Be it color or black and white, formal portraits against a backdrop or relaxed, candid photos in a natural setting–it is the client’s wedding, and their decisions—his job is to simply stay in the background and let the day unfold.

After graduating from Muhlenberg College in 1992 with a dual degree in art and psychology, Sandor began working for various newspapers--photographing notable personalities, professional sports, breaking news, politicians and the various routines of small-town and big-city life. In 1996, using the techniques and story-centered approach he adopted as a newspaper and magazine photographer, Sandor began photographing weddings. While many wedding photographers offer a "photojournalistic" style, very few have been actual photojournalists. Weddings, like the news, happen fast–with no time or second chances to recreate missed moments. He prides himself on his ability to capture the moment.

Sandor’s work has received an award from the Associated Press and appeared in The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Philadelphia Daily News, Philadelphia Magazine, The Knot, Parade Magazine and The Philadelphia City Paper. As well, he has been selected as a member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA). When he’s not photographing someone’s big event, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.
